Heavy Construction Equipment Operator
Job Location:
- Based in Airdrie, AB, with travel to various locations in Central and Southern Alberta (including up to Edmonton and Banff areas).
- Mileage, travel expenses, and living allowance paid by the employer, per company policy.
- Subsidized accommodations available for out-of-province applicants, per company policy.
Wage:
- $36.00 to $38.00/hour (based on skills and experience)
- Salary increases per company policy
- Bonus per company policy

Employment terms and conditions: Seasonal employment, full-time (40 to 60 hours per week, weather dependent); Overtime, Mornings, Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends

Job requirements:
Language: Basic English
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent training
Type of Heavy Equipment Operated: Asphalt Screed, Paver, Grader, Skidder, Asphalt roller
Area of work: Asphalt finishing, Fine grading and finishing, Rough grading; Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI), Residential construction, Road construction
Worksite environment: Outdoors, Dusty, Noisy, Job entails working close to buildings, utilities, moving equipment and public traffic, etc.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads (up to 50 lbs/23 kg), Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment
Personal Suitability: Team Player, Accurate, Organized, Reliability, Flexibility
Own Tools: Steel-toed safety boots
Security and Safety: Pre-access drug and alcohol screening is required prior to working on specific job sites
Duties:
- Operate heavy equipment
- Operate computer-controlled equipment
- Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Secure special attachments to equipment
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
- Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment
- Perform minor repairs to equipment
- Monitor safety conditions
- May be required to perform related duties as needed
