Asphalt Paving Foreman

The Asphalt Paving Foreman is responsible for overseeing and supervising daily activities of the asphalt paving crew including safety and quality. The Asphalt Paving Foreman must be willing to perform on-site job duties along with the crew and ensure compliance with safe work practices, policies, procedures and government regulations.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

– Supervise and coordinate paving projects from start to finish

– Oversee and manage a team of workers and trucking of mix – Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications

– Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility

– Monitor and enforce compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards

– Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and ensure work is progressing as planned

– Provide guidance and support to workers, including training and development opportunities

-Completion of daily reporting and safety documents

-Submittal of crew time and material usage

Job Requirement’s

– Proven experience as a Supervisor or similar role in the paving industry

– In-depth knowledge of construction management processes, procedures, and best practices

– Proficient in using construction management software such as B2W, Salus or similar tools – Excellent leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to effectively manage a team

– Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail

– Solid understanding of quality control principles and practices. City of Calgary/Municipal Specs)

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $38.00-$45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
